Installation of stone flooring replaces the existing carpet and Kydex runner in the entrance/ galley area, as well as stone flooring installation in crew lavatory and rear lavatory.
This modification will not affect the structural flooring. The stone floor tiles are manufactured by LIST ICF. Manufacturing of new thresholds and installation to be accomplished by RUAG.
The stone flooring is a real granite stone bonded on an aluminium honeycomb panel with a glass fibre prepreg between. The final granite finish is polished and divided in tiles.
The stone flooring in the entrance/ galley area including crew lavatory is divided into 9 tiles; the aft lavatory area is divided into 6 tiles.
The tiles are designed as a lay-up with an aluminium honeycomb core and on top a glass fibre layer and polished granite stone. On the bottom side of the aluminium honeycomb core there are spacers, and an insulating and damping material which is bonded to the basic construction overlapping at the tile boundary serving as water absorption and noise reduction ; the bottom layer is made by felt as a damping material.
The stone tiles are mechanical connected to each other by engaged spring elements and by the threshold plates.
